The Men for Equal Rights is a political organization with our finances and energies directed toward changing the laws
that negatively affect men. If you are a man that has experienced the impact of the pro-feminest laws passed in recent
years , we know, because we're a group that has been there too. If you are interested in the world around you and are interested
in influencing the political policies that affect your life and the lives of your children, then join us!
HERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT MAKE US DIFFERENT:
* Our chapters are also designed to be a support base for our members to provide help on a more
personal level.
* We are the fastest growing political organization specifically focused on men's rights, concerns,
and issues.
* We believe that men shouldn't be discriminated against being custodial parents because of their sex.
We believe child support is usually set at an unreasonable amount, often making it difficult for men to survive. We believe
that all too often child support payments support the ex-wives and not the children. Other areas men are discriminated
against are military service, rape and sexual harrassment accusations and the legal right to choose.
WHY DO WE NEED AN EQUAL RIGHTS ORGANIZATION?
For the past 175 years, women have had a growing number of "equal"
rights organizations that have gradually and steadily increased the rights and indeed the power of women in our society.
But often times these increases in rights have failed to correspond to an increase in responsibility. As we know from
history, freedom divorced from responsibility is often a blueprint for tyranny. For example, women are not required
to register with selective service when they turn 18 as men are. Women, even under age women, can decide when and why
to terminate their pregnancies without regard or consultation with the baby's father. Women also win physical custody
of the children in over 85% of divorce cases. And even when there is supposed "joint" physical custody, in reality, the women
end up with the children the majority of the time. After divorce proceedings are over most men are left paying spousal
support and/or child support (which often is nothing more than additional spousal support) to their ex-wives. Many women
remarry, but still recieve spousal or "child" support from their first husband thus these women effectively end up with two
men supporting them!
HOW TO JOIN?

so dues to our local chapters are only $25 a year! To join MER simply fill out the membership application and mail it with
the membership fee. We will send you your membership card and if there is already a chapter in your area, we'll send you the

THE GOALS OF THE MEN FOR EQUAL
RIGHTS:
Men for Equal Rights (MER) is dedicated to achieving several goals. In the
short-term, MER needs to expand its membership so that men can begin to be heard--both in the public dialog and in the voting
booths. MER will begin to affect cultural change by engaging in the cultural debate with feminists and their lawyers,
we will use scientific and real-life data to argue with the feminists about what is actually in the best interests of children
and society. MER will also propose and fund several ballot measures and initiatives in different states. Measures
and initiatives that will address concerns important to men, like custody and child support issues, and fighting to reverse
discrimination at the work place. MER will also construct a legal trust fund to be used across the country to help men
win custody cases in the courts and win bogus sexual "harassment" cases.
